TL;DR: In this article, the effect of hydroxyl ions on chloride penetration depth measurement using the colorimetric method was studied, and it was shown that the amount of silver chloride formed decreases linearly as OH− to Cl− ratio (r) increases.
TL;DR: In this paper, a research on the capacity and efficiency of resin anion exchange on chloride in a batch system was carried out and the system was then applied to chloride level in spring water in Sedang Village.
Abstract: This paper reports a research on the capacity and efficiency of resin anion exchange on chloride in a batch system. The system was then applied to chloride level in spring water in Sedang Village. Chloride content analysed were using argentometry methode . The results of the research showed that resin was potential to reduce chloride level below Water Quality Limit for (Group B). Its capacity was 0.6462 mg/g and saturating time was 260 minutes. Its effectiveness between 64.50% - 97.04%. The analysis of spring water in Sedang Village showed that these springs were contaminated with 260.33 – 295.83 ppm chloride. The resin exchange applied to these waters reduced the chloride levels to the level below the Guideline Limit for the 250 mg/L purposes (Group B).
TL;DR: In this article, a new analysis method which uses silver nitrate instead of mercury sulphate is proposed, which provides precise results,solvents-saving,and without mercuric pollution.
Abstract: In measuring the chemical oxygen demand(COD) of water samples by dichromate method, mercury sulphate which reacts with the chloride ions to form a solvable chloride-mercury complex was added into sample solution to remove the interference of chloride ions.In this paper,by investigating the mechanism of chloride disturbing,a new analysis method which use silver nitrate instead of mercury sulphate is proposed. The method has been applied in the analysis of waste water produced by Binhua Group and the results are consist with those obtained mercury sulphate method, and the relative deviation for 6 times analysis of COD is 2.2 %.The applications of this method to the treatment and recovery of waste water were also investigated. The methods of the recovery of silver, chromium, ferreous and the purification of silver are proposed. The method provides precise results,solvents-saving,and without mercuric pollution.
TL;DR: A method of recovering silver from a silver chloride mixture in which hydrogen gas is passed through the mixture to produce a metal chloride hydride which is then heated to dissociate the metal and to release hydrogen chloride gas was proposed in this paper.
