Abstract: The marketing of apitherapy products offers significant potential for the further development of beekeeping industries worldwide. Royal jelly produced in China is distributed to many countries, and propolis production is a major industry in both China and Brazil. A substantial trade also exists in bee pollen, with countries as diverse as Canada, Australia, Mexico, Argentina and Spain supplying the world market. Manuka honey from New Zealand has gained an international reputation for its unique antibacterial properties. All of these products, as well as a number of others, are raw materials used in apitherapy.
