TL;DR: Although Anthus cytochrome b is found not to be behaving in a clocklike fashion across all taxa, speciation during the Pleistocene epoch can be reasonably inferred for the 66% of sister pairs that are diverging in aClocklike manner.
TL;DR: The distribution of Anthus nattereri, an endangered species, is extended at least 170 km to the north of the nearest locality in southeastern Brazil, making the conservation of this species a difficult task.
Abstract: The distribution of Anthus nattereri , an endangered species, is extended at least 170 km to the north of the nearest locality in southeastern Brazil. New records of five individuals are provided from the municipality of Itabirito, within the Quadrilatero Ferrifero region, Minas Gerais state. Anthus nattereri was photographed and tape-recorded, sometimes in sympatry with Anthus hellmayri , a species it closely resembles. Records were made mostly on burnt open grasslands (“campos limpos”) making the conservation of this species a difficult task.
TL;DR: A previously unpublished collection of birds from the Bolivian highlands, consisting of 5426 specimens of 351 taxa, was examined and Morphological and systematic remarks are given for a few species.

TL;DR: The presence of Anthus hellmayri is confirmed for the Sierras of Cordoba province, based on specimens, sightings and sound recordings by the author and others as discussed by the authors.
Abstract: The presence of Anthus hellmayri is confirmed for the Sierras of Cordoba province, based on specimens, sightings and sound recordings by the author and others. Sonograms of this species and A.jurcatus are given for comparison, as both speeies are sympatric in the area of observations and can be confused.
Abstract: SUMMARY The Hellmayr's Pipit Anthus hellmayri (Motacillidae) is a poorly known grassland species found in Andes from southern Peru to southern Argentina, with a distinctive subspecies (A. h. brasilianus) found in southeastern Brazil to eastern Argentina. Here we report the wide occurrence of A. h. brasilianus along the Espinhaco Range, an orographic system ~1000km long composed by table-mountains and plateaus located in the states of Minas Gerais and Bahia, eastern Brazil. Records obtained during 16 years of field-work in the Espinhaco Ran ge, extend the range of this species 400km northward. The Hellmayr's Pipit is a resident species in the area, with a breeding season extending from September to April (rainy season).
