TL;DR: In this article, a method for receiving location data of a monitoring device when carried by a user and receiving motion data of the monitoring device is described. The method includes processing the received motion data to identify a group of motion data having a substantially common characteristic and processing the location data for the group of the motion data.
Abstract: A method includes receiving location data of a monitoring device when carried by a user and receiving motion data of the monitoring device. The motion data is associated with a time of occurrence and the location data. The method includes processing the received motion data to identify a group of the motion data having a substantially common characteristic and processing the location data for the group of the motion data. The group of motion data by way of processing the location data provides an activity identifier. The motion data includes metric data that identifies characteristics of the motion data. The method includes transferring the activity identifier and the characteristics of the motion data to a screen of a device for display. The activity identifier being a graphical user interface that receives an input for rendering more or less of the characteristics of the motion data.
TL;DR: In this paper, a data packet associated with an activity is transferred along with the data packet and used by the destination machine when logging its events, allowing events from the two machines to be correlated according to the activities to which they pertain.
Abstract: In computing environments having multiple computers, where such computers may comprise virtual machines, events are logged in association with corresponding activity identifiers. When a data packet associated with an activity is transferred to a destination machine, the activity identifier corresponding to the activity is transferred along with the data packet and used by the destination machine when logging its events. This allows events from the two machines to be correlated according to the activities to which they pertain.
TL;DR: In this paper, an apparatus, a system and a method of user-assisted resource usage determination in a domestic setting, the method comprising defining a resource consuming user activity by the user by means of a resource-consuming user activity identifier; defining an interval for metering resource usage; determining the resource usage during the defined interval; and storing the determined resource usage, the defined 5 interval and the association thereof with the resource consuming users activity identifier.
Abstract: The present invention relates to an apparatus, a system and a method of user- assisted resource usage determination in a domestic setting, the method comprising defining a resource consuming user activity by the user by means of a resource consuming user activity identifier; defining an interval for metering resource usage; determining the resource usage during the defined interval; and storing the determined resource usage, the defined 5 intervaland the association thereof with the resource consuming user activity identifier.
TL;DR: In this paper, a system and method for tracking productivity using a portable communication device such as a mobile station is presented, where a timer is started to measure the amount of time that the activity consumes and queries an activity table to determine whether an identifier associated with the activity has a profile association.
Abstract: A system and method for tracking productivity using a portable communication device such as a mobile station. The mobile station includes a memory storage unit for storing information related to project profiles. When a communication activity is initiated a timer is started to measure the amount of time that the activity consumes, and queries an activity table to determine whether an identifier associated with the activity has a profile association. If so, an event record is made of the profile and the type of communication activity. When the activity is terminated, the event record is supplemented with the duration of the activity. If there is no profile associated with an activity identifier associated with a current activity, then the user may be queried to determine whether an association should be created. The event records may be loaded into a PC for storage for further processing or to a report generating device for a generation of an appropriate report.
TL;DR: In this article, the authors described a method to transfer an activity from a source device to a companion device by sending extended activity data from the first application to the companion electronic device.
Abstract: The described embodiments transfer an activity from a source electronic device to a companion electronic device. The source electronic device receives activity information describing an activity performed in a first application at the source electronic device, determines an activity identifier for the activity information, and broadcasts an activity advertisement comprising the activity identifier. Upon receiving the activity advertisement, the companion electronic device determines whether a second application that is associated with the first application is available at the companion electronic device. If the second application is available, the companion electronic device requests extended activity data from the source electronic device. The source electronic device responds by sending extended activity data from the first application to the companion electronic device. Then, the companion electronic device uses the extended activity data to configure the second application and commences performing the activity with the second application at the companion electronic device.
