Abstract: The invention provides a projection system and method for laser to stimulate continuous white light. The projection system comprises a laser generation device, a stimulated luminescence color wheel device, a light combination device, a lighting path optical device, an LCD micro-display device and a projection lens, wherein the stimulated luminescence color wheel device is arranged in front of the emitting end of the laser generation device; the light combination device is arranged in front of the light outlet end of the stimulated luminescence color wheel device; the lighting path optical device is arranged in front of the light outlet end of the light combination device; the LCD micro-display device is arranged in front of the light outlet end of the lighting path optical device and is perpendicular to a light outlet path of the lighting path optical device; the projection lens is arranged in front of the image output end of the LCD micro-display device. The 3LCD projection system is simple in process, low in cost, stable in quality, high in brightness, good in color reducibility and free of flicker, and uses laser to simulate continuous white light.

Abstract: Data projectors have become a common sight in school classrooms, often in conjunction with an interactive whiteboard. Long periods of continuous use coupled with the transfer of a large amount of thermal energy from the projector's bulb means that they frequently break down, often in such a manner that they become uneconomic to repair. In this article, the operation of a data projector is discussed and the potential of a disassembled data projector for teaching light, colour and digital photography is examined. For the purposes of this article the term 'data projector' will refer to 3LCD projectors, the type most commonly found in classrooms; digital light processing projectors are discussed briefly at the end of the article.
