Cellular signalling of adrenomedullin regulating endothelial barrier function and granulocyte extravasation
Qian Mao
- 11 Nov 2012
TL;DR: ADM was confirmed to be a strong stabilizer of the endothelial barrier function in vitro, preventing and reversing hyperpermeability independent of the inflammatory stimulus and it was shown for the first time that ADM inhibited TNFα-induced granulocyte transmigration which was solely due to effects of ADM on endothelial cells.

Resolving inflammation : dual anti-inflammatory and pro-resolution lipid mediators
TL;DR: New cellular and molecular mechanisms for the resolution of inflammation are presented, revealing key roles for eicosanoids, such as lipoxins, and recently discovered families of endogenous chemical mediators, termed resolvins and protectins, which have anti-inflammatory and pro-resolution properties.

Platelet Activation and Atherothrombosis
Giovanni Davì,Carlo Patrono +1 more
TL;DR: This review of the role of platelets in at Herothrombosis illuminates the surprisingly numerous activities of these tiny, anucleate cells and stresses their participation in the inflammatory component of atherothromBosis.
