Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a snubber configuration, suited to circuits that carry large power flows and which has snubbers of relatively small size, and fast response. SOLUTION: A voltage excursion control system that limits transient voltage peaks of electric circuits, in response to changing conditions occurring across both sides of selected components, in response to changes in the conditions of the circuits, has a plurality of silicon carbide diode dice 11 series-interconnected in a succession, such that each cathode region of each die face toward a common end of the succession. First and second electrically conductive electrodes are each electrically interconnected with one corresponding electrode of the dice 11 at the opposite ends of the succession.
