Abstract: Humanlike robots may change our workplaces, economy, health care, and many other aspects of our lives. Imagine you are approached by a salesperson that is a robot, possibly like the one shown in Figure 6.1. Now imagine that this robot warmly smiles at you and presents a new electronic gadget. Would this grab your attention? Out of curiosity you may give the robot a chance to talk to you about the product and maybe even sell it to you.
