Token supervising system in token ring system

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors proposed a fault detection and recovery system in which the time for making the round in many communication processor networks is long, and on the contrary, it can be confirmed to send and receive a token in each adjacent processor and a fault can be detected quickly, and also, a fault part range can be specified.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To constitute the system so that the time for making the round in many communication processor networks is long, and on the contrary, it can be confirmed to send and receive a token in each adjacent processor and a fault can be detected quickly, and also, a fault part range can be specified. CONSTITUTION:Plural communication processors 11, 12, ... connected by loop- like transmission lines 30, 40 are provided with transmission lines of two directions for transmitting a token by using one direction as the data transmission line 30, and transmitting a receiving confirmation notice of a fact that the token is received normally by using the reverse direction as a receiving confirmation transmission line 40, and when one communication 11 transmits the token through a data transmission line 31, the communication processor 12 returns the receiving confirmation notice of normal reception by the transmission line 40. When it is not returned or is delayed, it is decided as no return and it is informed to, for instance, a maintenance center.
