Abstract: A voxel-based technique is provided for performing quantitative imaging and analysis of tissue image data. Serial image data is collected for tissue of interest at different states of the issue. The collected image data may be deformably registered, after which the registered image data is analyzed on a voxel-by-voxel basis, thereby retaining spatial information for the analysis. Various thresholds are applied to the registered tissue data to identify a tissue condition or state, such as classifying chronic obstructive pulmonary disease by disease phenotype in lung tissue, for example.

Image super enhancement
Alexander Steinberg,Sagiv Philipp,Ran Cohen,David Tolkowsky +3 more
- 08 Sep 2011
TL;DR: In this paper, an image frame in which the tool is enhanced is generated by identifying radiopaque markers in the image frames, identifying edge lines in a vicinity of the markers within the image frame, the edge lines corresponding to contours of the tool, and selecting a subset of image frames that are based upon the acquired image frames and aligning the contours in a plurality of the selected image frames.

Identification and presentation of device-to-vessel relative motion
Ran Cohen,Zohar Barzelay,Eldad Klaiman,Alexander Steinberg +3 more
- 18 Jun 2015
TL;DR: In this paper, a tool is inserted into a portion of a body of a subject that undergoes cyclic motion and a plurality of native images of the tool inside the portion of the body are acquired, at respective phases of the cyclical motion.

Accounting for skipped imaging locations during movement of an endoluminal imaging probe
Ran Cohen,Eldad Klaiman,Alexander Steinberg,David Tolkowsky +3 more
- 05 Dec 2013
TL;DR: In this paper, an endoluminal data-acquisition device is being moved through a lumen of a subject, acquiring a plurality of endolumninal data points of the lumen using the endoluminous data acquisition device.

A method for registration of 3-D shapes
Paul J. Besl,H.D. McKay +1 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors describe a general-purpose representation-independent method for the accurate and computationally efficient registration of 3D shapes including free-form curves and surfaces, based on the iterative closest point (ICP) algorithm, which requires only a procedure to find the closest point on a geometric entity to a given point.

New Guidelines to Evaluate the Response to Treatment in Solid Tumors
Patrick Therasse,Susan G. Arbuck,Elizabeth Eisenhauer,Jantien Wanders,Richard Kaplan,Larry Rubinstein,Jaap Verweij,Martine Van Glabbeke,Allan T. van Oosterom,Michaele C. Christian,S. Gwyther +10 more
TL;DR: A model by which a combined assessment of all existing lesions, characterized by target lesions and nontarget lesions, is used to extrapolate an overall response to treatment is proposed, which is largely validated by the Response Evaluation Criteria in Solid Tumors Group and integrated into the present guidelines.
Docetaxel plus Prednisone or Mitoxantrone plus Prednisone for Advanced Prostate Cancer
Ian F. Tannock,Ronald de Wit,William R. Berry,Jozsef Horti,Anna Pluzanska,Kim N. Chi,Stéphane Oudard,Christine Theodore,Nicholas D. James,Ingela Turesson,Mark Rosenthal,Mario A. Eisenberger +11 more
TL;DR: When given with prednisone, treatment with docetaxel every three weeks led to superior survival and improved rates of response in terms of pain, serum PSA level, and quality of life, as compared with mitoxantrone plusprednisone.
Principal warps: thin-plate splines and the decomposition of deformations
TL;DR: The decomposition of deformations by principal warps is demonstrated and the method is extended to deal with curving edges between landmarks to aid the extraction of features for analysis, comparison, and diagnosis of biological and medical images.
