Abstract: A time scaler for providing a time scaled version of an input audio signal is configured to compute or estimate a quality of a time scaled version of the input audio signal obtainable by a time scaling of the input audio signal. The time scaler is configured to perform the time scaling of the input audio signal in dependence on the computation or estimation of the quality of the time scaled version of the input audio signal obtainable by the time scaling. An audio decoder comprises such a time scaler.

TL;DR: In this paper, a playout delay adjustment method is proposed, which adjusts a play-out delay surplus based on a difference value between a first playout delays obtained in a first scheme and a second playout delayed in a second scheme and determines an adaptation type of a current frame according to whether a previous frame is an active frame.

Method and arrangement in a communication system
TL;DR: In this article, the decoding/playback part of received sound data packets in systems for transmission of sound over packet switched networks is discussed, where the lengths of received signal frames are manipulated by performing time expansion or time compression of one or more signal frames at time varying intervals and with time varying lengths of the expansion or compression, said intervals and said lengths being determined so as to maintain a continuous flow of signal samples to be played back.
