Abstract: Each recurring time slot of a time division multiplex communication system is identified by a comparator in a terminator unit, using the unique combination of phase relationships among a plurality of synchronization signals. The comparator is latched during the appropriate time slot by a supervision bus signal. Each of a plurality of terminators sends and receives samples of data input and output to and from an information path consisting of a bundle of discrete lines or buses. Communication between a particular terminator and a particular line of the information path is gated only during a recurring preselected time slot. A particular terminator selects samples sequentially from each successive line of the information path. These samples are then added together to reconstitute the signal. Samples of outgoing signals are similarly distributed over a plurality of lines in sequence.

- 22 Feb 1982
TL;DR: In this paper, the synchronizing signals are transmitted once per scan of all of the sensors in the array and phase or time the operation of clock generators and counters which establish the timing so that neither the time slots nor the sensor data signals which are transmitted therein to the collection point at the head end of the array interfere with one another.

Multistation communication bus system, and a master station and a slave station for use in such system
Gerardus Cornelis Petrus Lokhoff
- 09 Aug 1993
TL;DR: In this article, a multistation communication system accommodates one master station and a plurality of slave stations, where each master station may recognize one or more addresses as its own address; the associated control bits will then mandate the transfer direction.
