The Anatomy of a Large-Scale Hypertextual Web Search Engine.
Sergey Brin,Lawrence Page +1 more
13.3K
TL;DR: Google as discussed by the authors is a prototype of a large-scale search engine which makes heavy use of the structure present in hypertext and is designed to crawl and index the Web efficiently and produce much more satisfying search results than existing systems.

RDF2Vec: RDF graph embeddings and their applications
TL;DR: RDF2Vec is presented, an approach that uses language modeling approaches for unsupervised feature extraction from sequences of words, and adapts them to RDF graphs that shows that the proposed entity embeddings outperform existing techniques, and that pre-computed feature vector representations of general knowledge graphs such as DBpedia and Wikidata can be easily reused for different tasks.
A machine learning approach to web page filtering using content and structure analysis
Michael Chau,Hsinchun Chen +1 more
- 01 Jan 2008
TL;DR: A machine-learning-based approach that combines Web content analysis and Web structure analysis is proposed that represents each Web page by a set of content-based and link-based features, which can be used as the input for various machine learning algorithms.

Graph-based analysis and prediction for software evolution
Pamela Bhattacharya,Marios Iliofotou,Iulian Neamtiu,Michalis Faloutsos +3 more
- 02 Jun 2012
TL;DR: This work shows how a graph-based characterization of a software system can be used to capture its evolution and facilitate development, by helping to estimate bug severity, prioritize refactoring efforts, and predict defect-prone releases.
Vector Space Models of Lexical Meaning
Stephen Clark
- 21 Aug 2015
TL;DR: The meanings of words will be represented using vectors, as part of a high-dimensional " semantic space", namely the mathematical framework of vector spaces and linear algebra.

The PageRank Citation Ranking : Bringing Order to the Web
Lawrence Page,Sergey Brin,Rajeev Motwani,Terry Winograd +3 more
- 11 Nov 1999
TL;DR: This paper describes PageRank, a mathod for rating Web pages objectively and mechanically, effectively measuring the human interest and attention devoted to them, and shows how to efficiently compute PageRank for large numbers of pages.

Authoritative sources in a hyperlinked environment
Jon Kleinberg
- 01 Jan 1998
TL;DR: This work proposes and test an algorithmic formulation of the notion of authority, based on the relationship between a set of relevant authoritative pages and the set of \hub pages that join them together in the link structure, that has connections to the eigenvectors of certain matrices associated with the link graph.

Efficient crawling through URL ordering
Junghoo Cho,Hector Garcia-Molina,Lawrence Page +2 more
- 01 Apr 1998
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors study in what order a crawler should visit the URLs it has seen, in order to obtain more "important" pages first, and they show that a good ordering scheme can obtain important pages significantly faster than one without.

The effect of cellular phone use upon driver attention
TL;DR: The authors conclude that older drivers might reduce their accident risk during attention-demanding traffic conditions by avoiding use of cellular phones and that other drivers might do so by refraining from calls involving intense conversation.
