Abstract: An advance is made over the prior art in accordance with the principles of the present invention that is directed to a new approach for a system and method for a buffer management scheme. Certain embodiments of the invention improve the response of AQM schemes with controllable parameters to variations of the output rate of the bottleneck buffer. The impact on TCP performance can be substantial in most cases where the bottleneck rate is not guaranteed to be fixed. The new solution allows AQM schemes to achieve queue stability despite continuous variations of the bottleneck rate.

Transmission control method for DCN (Data Center Network) based on multilevel congestion feedback
Huang Jiawei,Xu Wenqian,Wang Jianxin,Hao Xiaoqiang,Zhang Huajian,You Qidi +5 more
- 26 Oct 2016
TL;DR: In this article, a transmission control method for a DCN (Data Center Network) based on multilevel congestion feedback is proposed, which comprises the steps of setting a switch cache queue length threshold which comprises a first-level queue marking threshold 1 and a second-level queuing threshold 2; monitoring a current queue length by each switch in a transmission path when multiple sending parties send data concurrently; comparing the current queue lengths with the first-layer queue marking thresholds 1 and 2, and feeding back a current network congestion state; reducing a window increasing speed in a slow start stage
