Abstract: The invention relates to a system and a method for identifying and processing a map. The method comprises the following steps of: identifying characters according to the positions of pictures and points set in the map to obtain map character and word; carrying out the image identification to obtain a map road; and then connecting the map roads among the positions and the points of the map and calculating the path distance to obtain the shortest path among the positions of the pictures and the points, thereby achieving the technical effect of planning the shortest path by the map.
