3D modeling of new-generation (1999–2010) resistivity logging tools
TL;DR: In this article, an axial measurement has no azimuthal sensitivity and is insensitive to the anisotropy and many other details of the formation, and axial re-ceivers measure the formation response, reflecting the medium resistivity.

Imaging using directional resistivity measurements
Gerald N. Minerbo,Sofia Davydycheva,Jian Yang +2 more
- 21 Sep 2009
TL;DR: In this paper, a method to produce an image of a subsurface formation using directional measurements is presented, where a downhole logging tool having one or more transmitters and one or multiple receivers, and being capable of making directional measurements, is used to measure the voltage in a particular receiver due to a particular transmitter for one or many transmitter/receiver pairs, at least one of those voltage measurements being a directional measurement.

Dipping bed response and inversion for distance to bed for a new while-drilling resistivity measurement
Tsili Wang,Hal W. Meyer,L. Yu +2 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the azimuthal propagation resistivity (APR) measurement was introduced for reservoir navigation and formation evaluation, and the response of the new measurement to a dipping bed was investigated.
