Abstract: In the field of simulation science, model reuse is an important way to improve the efficiency of modeling and the credibility of models in complex systems. It is also a hotspot and difficulty in complex system simulation. In this study, the requirements, concepts, and characteristics are summarized; key research techniques for model reuse for simulation as well as the model reuse knowledge system are given. In addition, a detailed description from the perspective of theory, method, and application is described, and the current model reuse research institute is discussed. Finally, key issues to be studied in the future are indicated.
