Abstract: Disclosed is a stringer manufacturing method such that the operational efficiency is increased, that the operators' work environment is improved, and that the manufacturing cost is reduced. The stringer manufacturing method comprises machining one end of a long member into a desired shape, thereby obtaining a desired stringer, the aforementioned long member being provided with a cap flange, a web, and a base flange, and being an inverted T-shape when viewed from the front, or an I-shape when viewed from the front, or a T-shape when viewed from the front. When the one end of the long member is to be machined into the desired shape, there is used for this purpose a vertical multi-articulation type robot (1) which has at least six axes, and wherein the tip of a valve unit (13) is provided with an abrasive nozzle assembly (14) that injects super high pressure water containing abrasive, and with a catcher cap (15) that recovers the super high pressure water injected by the abrasive nozzle assembly (14).
