Storage array and method for controlling storage array

Abstract: The invention provides a storage array and a method for controlling the storage array. The storage array comprises a processing unit, a power-on and power-off control unit and a switch unit, wherein first connection and second connection are formed between the power-on and power-off control unit and the switch unit; after the processing unit is powered on, the power-on and power-off control unit is used for sending a first switching signal to the switch unit through the first connection; the first switching signal indicates the switch unit to cut off the second connection; connection between the processing unit and the switch unit is started; through the first connection, the IP (Internet Protocol) address of the processing unit is configured as the IP address of the power-on and power-offcontrol unit; and when a detection result shows that the processing unit is powered off, a second switching signal is sent to the switch unit through the first connection, the second switching signalis used for indicating the switch unit to start the second connection, and connection between the processing unit and the switch unit is cut off. By use of the storage array provided by the invention, the number of IP addresses which need to be managed is reduced, and the complexity of user management is lowered.
