Spatial distribution of tuberculosis and relationship with living conditions in an urban area of Campina Grande--2004 to 2007.
Rodrigo Pinheiro Fernandes de Queiroga,Rodrigo Pinheiro Fernandes de Queiroga,Lenilde Duarte de Sá,Jordana de Almeida Nogueira,Eduardo Rodrigues Viana de Lima,Ana Cristina de Oliveira e Silva,Patrícia Geórgia Oliveira Diniz Pinheiro,José Ueleres Braga,José Ueleres Braga +8 more
TL;DR: The results showed that the spatial distribution of tuberculosis in the city is not uniform, and grouping neighborhoods according to the Life Conditions Index revealed social differences that can justify the occurrence of higher incidence rates in the most socially and economically vulnerable regions.
Target feasibility achievement in enterprise-driven hierarchical multidisciplinary design
Harrison M. Kim,Deepak Kumar,Wei Chen,Panos Y. Papalambros +3 more
- 01 Dec 2004
TL;DR: In this article, an analytical target cascading process is used to set the right targets for the engineering design process that maximize utility at the enterprise level, often represented with a disconnected feasible domain.
Study of Factors Influencing the Length of Hospital Stay of Patients with Anxiety Disorders
TL;DR: In this paper, the effects of related factors on the duration of hospitalization in patients with anxiety disorders were investigated. And the results showed that age was associated with the length of stay (P = 0.036) and patients with previous hospitalization and patients who received electro convulsive therapy and occupational therapy had a longer stay in the hospital (P < 0.001).
Homogeneous vs. heterogeneous transition functions in panel smooth transition regressions
TL;DR: In this paper, Smooth Transition Regression (STR) is used to model regression coefficients as homogeneous or heterogeneous functions of various transition functions of a transition function, and smooth transition regressions are used for smooth transition regression.

A Heteroskedasticity-Consistent Covariance Matrix Estimator and a Direct Test for Heteroskedasticity
TL;DR: In this article, a parameter covariance matrix estimator which is consistent even when the disturbances of a linear regression model are heteroskedastic is presented, which does not depend on a formal model of the structure of the heteroSkewedness.

Finding Groups in Data: An Introduction to Cluster Analysis.
TL;DR: An electrical signal transmission system, applicable to the transmission of signals from trackside hot box detector equipment for railroad locomotives and rolling stock, wherein a basic pulse train is transmitted whereof the pulses are of a selected first amplitude and represent a train axle count, and a spike pulse of greater selected amplitude is transmitted, occurring immediately after the axle count pulse to which it relates, whenever an overheated axle box is detected.
