Abstract: A method, apparatus and article of manufacture is provided for debugging within a computer system network. The method uses XML dataflows from/to a console for debugging of instructions located in a server, which has a database management system for retrieving data from a database stored in an electronic storage device coupled to the server. The method uses a debugger manager at the console for commanding and monitoring debugging operations of the server-side instructions, performed by a debugger engine, and uses XML command and status report dataflows for providing a database communication interface between the debugger manager and the debugger engine. Some preferred embodiments use stored procedures in addition to the XML dataflows, and the debugger manager executes in a multi-threaded environment.

Handling faults in a continuous event processing (cep) system
Alexandre de Castro Alves,Anand Srinivasan,Manju James +2 more
- 21 Apr 2015
TL;DR: In this paper, the concept of faults and fault handling is added to the execution of continuous event processing (CEP) queries, and users are enabled to instruct a CEP query processor to respond to faults in a customized manner that does not necessarily involve the halting of the CEP queries relative to which the faults occurred.

Value based windows on relations in continuous data streams
Sandeep Bishnoi,Anand Srinivasan,Unmesh Anil Deshmukh +2 more
- 30 May 2013
TL;DR: In this article, the authors present techniques for managing value-based windows on relations, where an input relation is a bounded set of data records related to an application, and a continuous query that identifies the input relation may be received.

Digital signatures with an embedded view
Alessandro Catorcini,Arungundram Narendran,Danny van Velzen,Mihaela C. Cris +3 more
- 13 May 2004
TL;DR: In this article, a method for building a digital signature that permits signing different parts of an electronic document is described. But this method requires the signed data to be embedded in the signature.

Dynamic connection to a remote tool in a distributed processing system environment used for debugging
Michael Stephen Meier,Hsin Pan +1 more
- 23 Feb 1996
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors propose a dynamic connection for distributed applications that need to locate application development tools, including but not limited to debuggers, trace collection tools, compilers, etc., which may be running on different machines.

Monitoring execution of an hierarchical visual program such as for debugging a message flow
Neta Aizenbud-Reshef,Yael Shaham-Gafni,Michael Starkey,Marc-Thomas Schmidt,Gabi Zodik,Stephen James Todd +5 more
- 27 Dec 2000
TL;DR: In this paper, an execution monitoring tool, a method and a computer program product for monitoring execution of an hierarchical visual program is presented. But the execution progress reports are sent to an execution controller which maps the report data to its own representation of the hierarchical program to determine the current position within an execution program.

Method for verifying context between multiple related XML tags in document object model (DOM)
Christopher Shane Claussen,Gregory Alan Flurry,Matthew Dale McClain,Lin Xu,Benjamin Charles ZumBrunnen +4 more
- 30 Sep 1999
TL;DR: In this article, a method for processing a DOM tree to verify context between multiple related XML tags is described, where contextual relationships between the related tags are verified using the DOM itself to indicate state.
