Abstract: A mucinous cystadenocarcinoma along with remnants of normal pancreatic tissue was discovered in the spleen of a 21-year-old woman. Extensive clinical, radiological, ultrasound and computed tomography investigation revealed that the patient's pancreas and ovaries were unremarkable. We presume an origin from heterotopic pancreatic tissue for this neoplasm and present a review of the literature in this regard.

TL;DR: Even if the majority of cases of ectopic pancreas are incidental findings and malignant transformation is a rare event, pancreatic heterotopy should be considered as a source of potentially malignant lesions.

TL;DR: Symptomatic HP is associated with younger age, larger size, gastric location, and lymphoid cuffs, and HPs containing PanINs/IPMNs (usually low grade) are larger and more common in stomach, have deeper wall locations, and show infiltrative growth and lymphoids cuffs.

Unusual presentation of pancreatic mucinous cystadenocarcinoma by spontaneous splenic rupture.
TL;DR: A tumor of the tail of the pancreas may uncommonly present as spontaneous splenic rupture, probably due to venous congestion and infiltration of the spleen, requiring emergency surgical treatment.
