Abstract: New supramolecular complex [Mn(EIN)4(NCS)2], SC1 (EIN = ethyl isonicotinate) has been prepared and fully characterized by single crystal X-ray diffraction, FT-IR, powder X-ray diffraction, UV–vis spectra and elemental analyses. The results showed that SC1 consists of discrete units which are connected to each other by intermolecular H-bonds. Also, the nanosized particles of SC1 were prepared under ultrasonic irradiation and their morphological feature was examined by transition electron microscopy (TEM). The fluorescence properties of SC1 had examined and showed high luminescent sensory towards nitrobenzene, Fe3+ and Pb2+ ions. Nanosized particles of 1 were used as a heterogeneous catalyst for removal of toxic dye under UV-irradiation, sunlight irradiation and ultrasonic irradiation. The results showed high effectively decolorized and degraded Eosin-Y dye without generation of any hazardous wastes or byproducts. Also, the mechanism of degradation was proposed and discussed in detail.
