Abstract: Two points are randomly selected inside a three-dimensional euclidian cube. The value l of their separation lies somewhere between zero and the length of a diagonal of the cube. The probability density P(l) of the separation is obtained analytically. Also a Monte Carlo computer simulation is performed, showing good agreement with the formulas obtained.

Topological lens effects in universes with non-euclidean compact spatial sections
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors estimate the number of topological images in locally hyperbolic and locally ellip-tic spaces, as a function of the cosmological parameters, of the volume of the spatial sections and of the catalog depth.

A new crystallographic method for detecting space topology
TL;DR: In this article, the authors proposed a new method based on the construc- tion of a collecting-correlated-pair technique which enhances the topological signature and can make it detectable.
