Abstract: Distributed generation and smart grids are the reality of an efficient electricity grid, at work an analysis of the advantages that distinguish both concepts related to the scenario generation, transportation, distribution and supply of energy is provided. Some results achieved in the related study of the solar potential and wind energy, focused on the use of these resources will improve in quality future university exposed electrical service. The main elements that have been considered to be incorporated in the roadmap for the introduction of smart grids in Ecuador expose.
