Reorganization of equivalence classes : Evidence for contextual control by baseline reviews before probes
17
TL;DR: This paper investigated baseline reviews as a relevant variable in reorganization of equivalence classes and found that baseline reviews may have functioned as contextual cues, strengthening the most recent baseline against the conflicting earlier ones.

Abstract: Two experiments investigated baseline reviews as a relevant variable in reorganization of equivalence classes. After formation of three 4-member classes, participants learned reversals of baseline conditional discriminations and expanded the classes to 5 members each. In Experiment 1, 4 studl3nts responded on equivalence probes without baseline reviews preceding each test. They seldom reorganized classes consistently with reversed baselines. Their performance was sometimes consistent with the original baseline and sometimes inconsistent with both baselines. In Experiment 2, 4 additional students received the same training and tests, with baseline reviews preceding each test. These participants always reorganized classes consistently with the reversed baselines. Baseline reviews may have functioned as contextual cues, strengthening the most recent baseline against the conflicting earlier ones.

Reorganization of equivalence classes: effects of preliminary training and meaningful stimuli
TL;DR: Great gains were produced by preliminary training with no delays than with delays, and test performances showed how preliminary training influenced baseline acquisition speed and participant-defined relations.

Exploring a Training IRAP as a single participant context for analyzing reversed derived relations and persistent rule‐following
Colin Harte,Dermot Barnes-Holmes,M.H. Moreira,João Henrique de Almeida,Denise Aparecida Passarelli,Julio C. de Rose +5 more
TL;DR: In this paper, a training version of implicit relational assessment procedure (IRAP) was used to establish and successfully reverse experimentally established derived relations, and the results suggested that the Training IRAP could successfully produce derived reversals.

Slot Machine Preferences of Pathological and Recreational Gamblers Are Verbally Constructed
TL;DR: In this article, the authors attempted to alter preferences for concurrently available slot machines of equal payout through the development of equivalence classes and subsequent transfers of functions and found that preferences could be altered based on derived transfer of emotive functions via equivalence relations.

Reorganization of equivalence classes: analysis of reversed baseline relations
TL;DR: In this paper, a matching-to-sample procedure was used to establish conditional relations between stimuli and the emergence of five equivalence classes with five stimuli each, and it was concluded that stimuli equivalence class may be established and subsequently modified, what does not dependent on the number of reversed relations.

Conditional discrimination vs. matching-to-sample : An expansion of the testing paradigm

TL;DR: A subject's performance under a conditional-discrimination procedure defines conditional relations between stimuli, and ancillary oral naming tests suggested that the subject's application of the same name to each stimulus was neither necessary nor sufficient to establish classes of equivalent stimuli.

11 Some implications of a stimulus control topography analysis for emergent behavior and stimulus classes
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors discuss some implications of stimulus control topography (SCT) analysis for emergent behavior and stimulus classes, and make predictions that the occurrence of delayed emergence and equivalence failures should be reduced by instituting procedures that increase the coherence between the subject's and experimenter's SCT definition.

TL;DR: Findings suggest that, given similar challenges, equivalence-class performances may be more easily disrupted in young children than in adults.

The Long-Term Retention of Generalized Equivalence Classes
TL;DR: In this paper, the retention of generalized equivalence classes was examined for matching-to-sample training, in which two-element stimulus compounds were presented as sample stimuli, and an equivalence test was conducted, where those compounds were separated and each element was tested separately for its entry into equivalence relations with other stimuli.
