Abstract: The invention comes within the branch of equipment used for controlling digital operation systems, for example, pulse code modulation telephonic transmission systems. It concerns a random sequence generator operating at a frequency which is a multiple of the frequency of a generator of known type, comprising a time multiplexer in functional connection with the said generator of known type. It is used in services for the studying and maintenance of digital operation systems.

TL;DR: In this article, a pseudo-random binary sequence generator consisting of at least one shift register (S, T) arranged in a recirculating loop and having a plurality of logic gates (G) for logically combining the outputs of selected stages of the register to provide a pseudo random sequence, and a multiplexer (M), having a p data inputs and q address inputs all connected to selected shift register stages, and which selects at any instant one of the p data input bits in accordance with the q-bit address word to provide the generator output.

Signal comprising binary spreading-code sequences
Bart F. Rice
- 31 May 1995
TL;DR: In this paper, a method and apparatus for electrically generating sets of binary spreading-code sequences for use in a multi-node communication network is presented, where the initial fill of the first binary shift register is fixed and different initial fills are specified for the second binary shift registers.

Method and apparatus for generating random numbers using flip-flop meta-stability
Michael A. Epstein
- 05 Mar 2001
TL;DR: In this paper, a method and apparatus for generating random numbers using the meta-stable behavior of flip-flops is presented, where a flip-Flop is clocked with an input that deliberately violates the setup or hold times (or both) of the flip-FLOP to ensure metastable behavior.

- 05 Aug 1969
TL;DR: In this paper, a high-speed delta modulator is provided, where a plurality of relatively low speed delta modulators are arranged so that one of such plurality of low speed modulators is adapted to receive an input signal to be modulated while each succeeding one of them is connected to a preceding one of the low-speed modulators in such a manner that the resulting modulator apparatus exhibits an equivalent sampling rate equal to the sampling rate.
