Geochemistry of a thermally immature Eagle Ford Group drill core in central Texas
TL;DR: In this article, a thermally immature drill core was acquired north of the San Marcos arch that recovered the Pepper Shale and the Eagle Ford Group, and molecular and isotopic analyses of rock extracts were combined with bulk organic and inorganic geochemistry and mineralogy to track the variability in organic matter source and depositional environment, as well as identify drivers of organic enrichment.

Source rock potential, main depocenters, and CO2 occurrence in the pre-salt section of Santos Basin, southeast Brazil
TL;DR: In this paper , the authors focused on elucidation of the source potential, basin depocenters, and CO2 occurrence in the pre-salt of the Santos Basin, aimed at reducing risk of upcoming exploration activities.

A.B. Khairy,W. Sh. El Diasty,Clement N. Uguna,Kenneth E. Peters,Christopher H. Vane,Colin E. Snape,Will Meredith +6 more
TL;DR: A comprehensive geochemical assessment of possible Oligocene-Pliocene source rocks, using TOC/rock-Eval pyrolysis and gas chromatography-mass spectrometry, is presented in this article .

Sherif Farouk,A.B. Khairy,Amr M. Shehata,Clement N. Uguna,Ahmad S. D. Salama,Khaled Al-Kahtany,Will Meredith +6 more
TL;DR: In this paper , the authors evaluated organic geochemical features of the Upper Cretaceous-Pliocene sequence in the western offshore Nile Delta, applying TOC, Rock-Eval pyrolysis and GC-MS procedures for 137 ditch cuttings collected from three wells.

Evaluating transformation of marine kerogens from Rock-Eval measurements: B. Confirmation of a scaled thermal maturation path by natural samples
Yoav O. Rosenberg,Itay J. Reznik +1 more
TL;DR: In this article, a scaled maturation path (HIrelative-ΔTmax) was formulated based on laboratory maturation data for Type II and II-S kerogen transformation with thermal maturation using open system Rock-Eval pyrolysis.

A method for the solution of certain non – linear problems in least squares
TL;DR: In this article, the problem of least square problems with non-linear normal equations is solved by an extension of the standard method which insures improvement of the initial solution, which can also be considered an extension to Newton's method.
Guidelines for Evaluating Petroleum Source Rock Using Programmed Pyrolysis
TL;DR: In this article, the authors used pyrolysis to rapidly evaluate the petroleum-generative potential and thermal maturity of rocks and found that most coals showed high S2/S3 (>5) and low HI values (< 300 mg HC/g TOC.
