Abstract: PURPOSE: To obtain a method which displays the execution situation and the execution history of a program in connection with a source program and a module configuration diagram. CONSTITUTION: Processing results for respective execution units and the execution situations of repetition, condition branching and a recursive call are successively overlapped and displayed near the respective execution units of the source program displayed on a screen by adjusting them to the execution of the program. Information on the execution situations are similarly displayed in accordance with the module configuration diagram. Furthermore, program execution history is preserved and it is reproduced and displayed in the above-mentioned form in accordance with a request. Since the execution situation is overlapped and displayed on the program, the operation of the program becomes easy to be understood.
