Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the image processor capable of easily generating a feature- extracted image. SOLUTION: When the feature-extracted image is generated by using a compressed fixed-length code 301, the MSB eight bits of the fixed-length compressed code 301 have a mean density value of four pixels, so only the eight bits of the fixed-length compressed code 301 are rearranged to generate a mean thinned- out image 303 of the four pixels. Further, the LSB two bits of the fixed-length compressed code 301 is a high-frequency coefficient and blocks having high-frequency coefficients which are not 0 are displayed with one pixel for each block by referring to the high-frequency coefficients, thus obtaining a thinned-out outline image 304.
