PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To match character size and graphic size as the whole sentence and to obtain a layout print result with aligned print position even in the case of sentence information of a plurality of pages in which paper sizes and paper directions are mixed.SOLUTION: In a print control unit which generates print information from sentence information of a plurality of pages in which paper sizes and paper directions are mixed, a printer driver defined an area for printing the sentence information on each page so as to be settled within an area of an integral multiples of a reference printing area to be determined according to a layout parameter to be set by a user in a printing area to be specified by the output paper size (S1301-S1313). Then, the sentence information on each page is reduced by the same reduction magnification to be determined according to the layout parameter for pages which can be printed in the printing area to be laid out in the area defined by the printer driver (S 1314). Then, the printer driver transmits print data in which the sentence information on the plurality of pages is laid out to a printer (S1318).

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To form an image by providing an entry process, a character string detection process, an original size detection process, an arrangement process arranging a plurality of original images and an image forming process to form an image to arrange easily direction of characters. SOLUTION: Figure (a) indicates an example of layout of originals in which 1st and 3rd originals are small sized originals in lateral writing and a 2nd is a large sized original in vertical writing. In this case a black is set to a location 1000, the layout is attained where the originals are processed in the same order and in the same character directions. Figure (b) shows an example of layout of originals in which 1st original is a large sided original in lateral writing, and 2nd and 3rd originals are small sized originals in vertical writing. Figure (c) depicts an example of layout of originals in which 1st original is a large sized original in vertical writing, 2nd original is a small sized original in vertical writing and a 3rd is a small sized original in lateral writing. It is possible for the layout of same character direction for the large sized original in vertical writing and the small sized original in lateral writing, but it is turned out impossible in addition of the small sized original in vertical writing. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To integrate a plurality of pages of image data by optimum arrangement, in response to the direction and size of each kind of image data, when the plurality of pages of image data are integrated. SOLUTION: The controller 15 of a printer 1 acquires the direction and the size of the plurality of pages of image data preserved in an HDD 12, determines an arrangement pattern in integrating the image data of each page in the output region, based on the acquired direction and size of the image data of each page, and integrates the image data of the pages in the output area, based on the determined arrangement pattern. When the image data have the same direction as and different size from those in the arrangement pattern, the direction of the image data of one of the pages is changed so as to determine the arrangement pattern to integrate the image data of each page in the output region.
