Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a post-processing apparatus that can detect a sheet thickness without a cost increase.SOLUTION: The post-processing apparatus includes: a perforation means for perforating the conveyed sheet; and a motor for driving the perforation means. When the motor drive starts to perforate the sheet, a first encoder count number is obtained at a predetermined time before the perforation means comes in contact with the sheet, and a second encoder count number is obtained at a predetermined time when the sheet perforating process by the perforation means is ended, and then, a value excluding variations in ambient temperature and voltage is calculated using a predetermined calculation formula on the basis of the first encoder count number and the second encoder count number, and then, to which thickness the calculated value corresponds is specified using a sheet thickness specification table in which a thickness per sheet is previously associated with each of assumed values calculated using the calculation formula.
