A history and today's status of Polish radar development is given. The influence of access of modern technologies on Polish radar design is presented. A description of a new generation of 3D long radar L-band and X-band coherent surveillance radar is given. Some results of research and development in flat array antennas (both primary and secondary) and coherent transmitters are described.

General trends observed in development of radar technology has been marked and today's status of Polish radar development and its trends is given in the paper. The influence of access of modern technologies on Polish radar design is also presented. A brief description of a new generation of 3D long radar L and S-band coherent surveillance radar are given. A mobile medium range S-band radar is presented. The ELINT/ESM systems on armored vehicles are described. Transmit-receive modules developed in PIT in L, S and C frequency band are described and their influence on future red systems developed in Poland.

Trends in radar technology and PIT achievements

The paper describes some of Polish radar and ELINT systems starting from its beginning in 50-ies. After description of the most significant achievements both in radars and in ELINT systems delivered to all branches of Polish army as well as those being exported, the present and future possibilities and achievements of the Telecom-munications Research Institute were presented.
