The invention discloses a method for transmitting information, which comprises the step of: reporting usage information or surplus information of an IP connection access network (IP-CAN) session to a policy and charging rule function entity (PCRF) after a policy and charging enforcement function entity (PCEF) receives a request message of the PCRF in the process of the IP-CAN session. In the method, the PCRF sends the request message to the PCEF in the process of the IP-CAN session; the PCEF receives the request message and then returns the usage information or the surplus information of the IP-CAN session to the PCRF; and the PCRF modifies traffic and/or duration threshold of the IP-CAN session according to the received usage information or the surplus information so as to transmit accurate and valid threshold to the PCEF.

Method and system for transmitting information

The invention relates to a network communication technique, in particular to a method, a system and a device for confirming whether packet data network connection is established or not for solving the problem that in the establishing process of an IP-CAN session, a policy and charging rule function PCRF entity cannot know whether the IP-CAN session is established successfully or not in time, thus delaying the time of sending data by an application function AF entity and reducing the transmission efficiency of the whole system and the resource utilization ratio of the prior art. The method of the embodiment comprises the following steps: according to received IP-CAN session establishment from a PCEF entity, the PCRF entity requires an authorized message, confirms a PCC rule message and sends to the PCEF entity; and according to the received IP-CAN session establishment from the PCEF entity, the PCRF entity confirms relevant information of the PCC rules in the message and confirms whether the IP-CAN session is established successfully or not. By adopting the method of the embodiment, the transmission efficiency of the whole system and the resource utilization ratio can be increased.
