Abstract: PURPOSE:To speedily display compression data and picture data at any bit position by providing a P/S conversion part, an extending part, an area segment part, a bit position correcting part and an S/P conversion part. CONSTITUTION:A control part 8 sets coordinate data (x1, y1)-(x2, y2) in the partial area of a picture to be segmented to the area segment part 5, thereby segmenting a partial image area. Moreover the control part 8 sets corrected data BP made of bits to the bit position correcting part 6. If serial data is picture data, a data switch A2 outputs said data to a data switch B4. Whereas the serial data is compressed the data switch A2 outputs said data to the extending part 3. It restores and outputs the inputted compression data to the data switch B4. The area segment part 5 segments the partial area of set bit image data, while the bit position correcting part 6 inserts the signal string of codes O by the number of BPs before the target bit image data, then adds the signal string of codes O and outputs the string to the S/P conversion part 7.
