A high-resolution neutron powder diffraction study of the low-temperature structural phase transitions in RbCaF3 perovskite
Kevin S. Knight,Kevin S. Knight +1 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the temperature dependence of the crystal structure and thermoelastic properties of RbCaF3 perovskite are reported from a high-resolution neutron powder diffraction investigation in the temperature interval 2-300

Structural electroactive cermets: dielectric and structural properties of conductive metallic reinforced piezoelectric ceramics
TL;DR: More efficient transportation, structural energy storage systems, active sensing, and self-diagnosis are examples where disruptive materials are necessary for driving technological innovation for wireless sensor networks as discussed by the authors, which is the case in this paper.

What can a "quantum black-box" do for the inorganic thermochemist?
TL;DR: Density functional theory is shown to be a valuable tool that should be used routinely in thermochemical studies of inorganic compounds and correlate with the difference in acidity between the binary constituent oxides.

Ferromagnetism induced by calcium vacancies in Ca3BiP anti-perovskite: An ab-initio calculation
TL;DR: In this paper, the effect of all cation and/or anion vacancies on the magnetic structure of the anti-perovskite Ca3BiP was examined using a fullpotential linearized-augmented plane-wave calculation within the generalized gradient approximation (PBE-GGA) and a modified version proposed by Becke and Johnson (TB-mBJ) for the exchange-correlation potential.

Pressure-induced amorphization of A-site-deficient double perovskite Ln1/3MO3 (Ln = Pr, Nd, M = Nb, Ta)
Ori Noked,Aviva Melchior,Reuben Shuker,R. Steininger,Brendan J. Kennedy,E. Sterer +5 more
- 01 Jun 2014
TL;DR: In this article, high-pressure X-ray diffraction measurements have demonstrated that the cation-deficient perovskites Pr1/3NbO3, Pr 1/3TaO3 and Nd1/2TaOO3 undergo irreversible pressure-induced amorphization (PIA).
