Dissociative photoionisation of hexafluorobenzene
TL;DR: In this article, the breakdown diagram of the C 5 F 3 + ion and its 0 K threshold have been derived from two separate photoelectron-photoion coincidence techniques and interpreted using density functional theory calculations.

C6F5X (X=H, F, Cl, Br and I) excited radical cation formation in the 10–40 eV region
T. Hikida,Toshio Ibuki,K. Okada +2 more
TL;DR: In this paper, photolysis of parent molecules in the 10-40 eV region was studied and the emission efficiency curve starting at the ionization energy of C 6 F 5 X forming the electronically excited π −1 cations showed nearly constant efficiency up to 16 eV, where the benzenic π electrons may be excited.

The nature of the lowest virtual molecular orbitals in fluorobenzenes
TL;DR: In this paper, the lowest unoccupied molecular orbital, which would assist the first electron transfer in the electrode reduction of the title compounds, is invariably of π type along the series, no σ*-π* crossover being predicted.
