Percutaneous replacement of pulmonary valve in a right-ventricle to pulmonary-artery prosthetic conduit with valve dysfunction
Philipp Bonhoeffer,Younes Boudjemline,Zakhia Saliba,Jacques Merckx,Y. Aggoun,Damien Bonnet,Philippe Acar,Jérôme Le Bidois,Daniel Sidi,Jean Kachaner +9 more
TL;DR: It is shown that percutaneous valve replacement in the pulmonary position is possible and with further technical improvements, this new technique might also be used for valve Replacement in other cardiac and non-cardiac positions.

Percutaneous Transcatheter Implantation of an Aortic Valve Prosthesis for Calcific Aortic Stenosis First Human Case Description
Alain Cribier,Hélène Eltchaninoff,Assaf Bash,Nicolas Borenstein,Christophe Tron,Fabrice Bauer,Geneviève Derumeaux,Frédéric Anselme,François Laborde,Martin B. Leon +9 more
TL;DR: A percutaneous implantable prosthetic heart valve (PHV) composed of 3 bovine pericardial leaflets mounted within a balloon-expandable stent was developed in this article.

Percutaneous Transcatheter Implantation of an Aortic Valve Prosthesis for Calcific Aortic Stenosis
TL;DR: Nonsurgical implantation of a prosthetic heart valve can be successfully achieved with immediate and midterm hemodynamic and clinical improvement, and PHV might become an important therapeutic alternative for the treatment of selected patients with nonsurgical aortic stenosis.

Transcatheter Implantation of a Bovine Valve in Pulmonary Position A Lamb Study
Philipp Bonhoeffer,Younes Boudjemline,Zakhia Saliba,A.-O. Hausse,Y. Aggoun,Damien Bonnet,Daniel Sidi,Jean Kachaner +7 more
TL;DR: Nonsurgical implantation of pulmonary valves is possible in the lamb and should be feasible in humans, in whom it will lead to a significant reduction of reoperations in patients in need of pulmonary valve replacement.

Fate Of Subpulmonary Homograft Conduits: Determinants Of Latehomograft Failure
TL;DR: Despite gradual deterioration of homograft conduits, they remain an important tool in the correction of many complex lesions with excellent 15-year patient survival and when patient survival was considered, patients operated on more recently survived longer despite the fact that their conduits were being replaced earlier.

Prolongation of RV-PA Conduit Life Span by Percutaneous Stent Implantation Intermediate-Term Results
TL;DR: Stent implantation in obstructed RV-PA conduits results in significant immediate hemodynamic and angiographic improvement and extends conduit life span by several years and increases the interval between conduit reoperations.

Long-term follow-up of patients with synthetic right heart conduits.
TL;DR: The poor performance of porcine-valved tightly woven Dacron conduits warrants a change to use of an alternative conduit, particularly in smaller children, and possible alternatives include antibiotic-sterilized homografts and valved or nonvalved high-porosity knitted Dacrons appropriately pretreated with collagen impregnation or fibrin glue.

Intravascular stent prosthesis for right ventricular outflow obstruction
Martin C.K. Hosking,Lee N. Benson,Toshio Nakanishi,Patricia E. Burrows,William G. Williams,Robert M. Freedom +5 more
TL;DR: Assessment of the impact of implantation of balloon-expandable stents on right ventricular outflow obstruction in children with congenital heart disease supports the view that intravascular stenting will become an important adjunct in the management of children with defects.
