Compositions and methods for the sublingual or buccal administration of therapeutic agents
Fu Lu Mou-Ying,Reiland Thomas L +1 more
- 18 Aug 1992
TL;DR: In this article, the authors propose compositions for the sublingual or buccal administration of therapeutic agents (particularly polypeptides) which are normally degraded upon oral administration, including a therapeutic agent, a solvent, optionally a cosolvent and/or hydrogel, and an oral mucosal membrane transport enhancing agent which is selected from the group consisting of essential and volatile oils and inorganic and organic acids.

Characterization of a teleost gonadotropin-releasing hormone.
TL;DR: A peptide that is recognized by certain antibodies raised against mammalian gonadotropin-releasing hormone has been purified from extracts of salmon brains by gel filtration and high-performance liquid chromatography and demonstrates that most of the molecule has been conserved during evolution.

Water-soluble peptides affecting gonadal function
Jean Rivier,Jr Wylie Walker Vale +1 more
- 29 May 1980
Abstract: [im-Bzl D-His 6 ]LRF and [D-His 6 (im-Bzl), Pro 9 -NEt]LRF exhibit hydrophillicity comparable to that of LRF and act as superagonists exhibiting potencies, respectively, about 12 and more than 200 times that of LRF. The peptides or their nontoxic salts can be administered by intravenous subcutaneous, sublingual, oral, intravaginal, intranasal or rectal routes. The peptides can be used to regulate fertility in male and female mammals, including human beings.
