Estimation of Organic Carbon Normalized Sorption Coefficient (KOC) for Soils Using the Fragment Constant Method
TL;DR: In this paper, a fragment constant model for predicting KOC was developed and evaluated with a diverse database of 592 chemicals belonging to 17 classes, and the experimental results confirmed the ability of the fragment model to predict KOC for a wide variety of untested chemicals.

Soil Humic Substances
TL;DR: The Lignin-Protein Theory and the sugar-mine theory were proposed by the IHSS in this article, and the Polyphenol theory was used to describe the properties of polyphenols.

Evaluation of toxicity of the pesticides, chlorpyrifos and arsenic, in the presence of compost humic substances in aqueous systems.
Kim D. Jones,Wi Hao Huang +1 more
TL;DR: A significant relationship between humic substance interactions with organic and inorganic pesticides, and pesticide toxicity in natural systems, is demonstrated and may also suggest a mechanism for pesticide toxicity reduction in natural waters through compost humic addition for contaminated groundwaters and surface waters.

Equilibrium adsorption of chemical vapors on surface soils, landfills and landfarms — a review
TL;DR: The equilibrium adsorption of Volatile Organic Chemicals (VOCs) onto soils, such as occurring in surface soils, landfills and landfarms, is reviewed in this paper.

Adsorption equilibriums of principal herbicides on paddy soils in Japan
TL;DR: Adsorption equilibriums of the five principal herbicides, esprocarb, mefenacet, pretilachlor, simetryn and thiobencarb, on five kinds of paddy soil in Japan were investigated and it was found that their equilibrium values were better expressed by the Freundlich equation for concentration levels for the paddy fields.
