Piezo2 expressed in proprioceptive neurons is essential for skeletal integrity
Eran Assaraf,Eran Assaraf,Ronen Blecher,Ronen Blecher,Lia Heinemann-Yerushalmi,Sharon Krief,Ron Carmel Vinestock,Inbal E. Biton,Vlad Brumfeld,Ron Rotkopf,Erez Avisar,Gabriel Agar,Elazar Zelzer +12 more
TL;DR: Deletion of Piezo2 in proprioceptive neurons, but not in skeletal lineages, recapitulated the human phenotype in mice, expanding the range of known regulatory roles of the proprioception system on the skeleton and providing a central component of the underlying molecular mechanism.
Measurement accuracy in congenital scoliosis.
Fernando A.M. Facanha-Filho,Robert B. Winter,John E. Lonstein,Steven E. Koop,Tom F. Novacheck,E. A. L’Heureux,Cheryl A. Noren +6 more
TL;DR: It is possible to measure curves in congenital scoliosis with much greater accuracy than previously reported and in the clinical situation in which a skilled observer can measure two radiographs at the same time, an accuracy of ± 3° can be expected 95% of the time.

The success of thoracoscopic anterior fusion in a consecutive series of 112 pediatric spinal deformity cases.
TL;DR: Thoracoscopic anterior release and fusion of the thoracic spine is a safe and effective procedure when combined with posterior instrumentation and fusion in patients with a minimum of 2-year follow-up treated for spinal deformity.

Reliability of Radiographic Parameters in Neuromuscular Scoliosis
Munish C. Gupta,Shirvinda Wijesekera,Allen Sossan,Linda Martin,Lawrence C. Vogel,Jennette L. Boakes,Joel A. Lerman,Craig M. McDonald,Randall Betz +8 more
TL;DR: This study sought to define interoberserver and intraobserver variability to further delineate reliable means by which radiographs of patients with neuromuscular scoliosis can be examined and found that a separate anteroposterior pelvis radiograph should be used to assess skeletal maturity.

A review of methods for quantitative evaluation of axial vertebral rotation
TL;DR: The scope of this paper is to review the existing methods for quantitative evaluation of axial vertebral rotation from medical images along with all relevant publications, which may provide a valuable resource for studying theexisting methods or developing new methods and evaluation strategies.
