Refractive indices of III–V compounds: Key properties of InGaAsP relevant to device design
TL;DR: In this article, a method for calculation of refractive indices in III-V compounds at energies below the direct band edge is presented, where the spectral dependence of the refractive index data is analyzed on the basis of simplified models of the interband transitions.
Optical efficiency of far-infrared photoconductors
TL;DR: An experimental and theoretical study to optimize the geometry of far-IR photoconductive detectors with diffraction-limited throughput found a rod-shaped detector geometry with square cross section, electrodes on the lateral faces, and a beveled backface to trap the radiation by total internal reflection to have nearly equal responsivity to the best detectors in integrating cavities.
Fabrication of p-type SnO2 films via pulsed laser deposition method by using Sb as dopant
TL;DR: In this article, a transparent conducting antimony-doped tin oxide (ATO) thin film was successfully fabricated on quartz glass substrates by pulsed laser deposition using a 20.1-at.% Sb doped SnO2 ceramic target.
Effect of Na doping on the microstructures and optical properties of ZnO nanorods
TL;DR: In this paper, the effect of Na incorporation on structural, morphological and optical properties of ZnO nanorod films was investigated by using X-ray diffraction (XRD) measurements.
Variation of color in titanium and zirconium nitride decorative thin films
TL;DR: In this article, the color variation in zirconium and titanium nitrides was investigated with respect to the atomic ratio between nitrogen and transition metals and with oxygen as the contaminant.

Optical Properties of Solids
TL;DR: In this article, the authors propose a quantum theory of radiative absorption and emission in dielectric dielectrics, based on the classical propagation and interband absorption, respectively.

On the Polar Vibrations of Alkali Halides
TL;DR: In this paper, the long wave-length, polar lattice vibrations of alkali halide crystals are discussed without making any specific assumptions about the detailed interactions between the ions, and the ratio of the two frequencies is found to be independent of the effective charge of an ion defined as follows: all of the positive ions in a crystal slab are displaced by an equal amount in a direction perpendicular to the faces of the slab and all of negative ions in the opposite direction.

Zener tunneling in semiconductors
TL;DR: In this paper, the Zener current in a constant field is calculated both with and without the W annier -A dams reduction of the interband-coupling terms, interpreted as a polarization correction.
