TL;DR: Embedding probability sampling within this traditional, multisite cohort study design enables competing research objectives to be met, however, the use of probability sampling requires developing solutions to some unique challenges in both sample selection and recruitment.

Total Survey Error: Design, Implementation, and Evaluation
TL;DR: In this paper, the TSE paradigm is viewed as part of a much larger design strategy that seeks to optimize surveys by maximizing total survey quality; i.e., quality more broadly defined to include user-specified dimensions of quality.
Explaining Rising Nonresponse Rates in Cross-Sectional Surveys
TL;DR: A review of nonresponse in cross-sectional household surveys in the United States shows trends in nonresponse rates, the main reasons for nonresponse, and changes in the components of non-response.

Green human resource management and environmental cooperation: An ability-motivation-opportunity and contingency perspective
TL;DR: In this article, a survey of 126 automobile manufacturers in China is analyzed using moderated regression analysis, based on a proposed conceptual model grounded in ability-motivation-opportunity (AMO) theory and contingency theory.

Vilma Cokkinides,Kourtney Johnston-Davis,Martin A. Weinstock,Martin A. Weinstock,Mary C. O'Connell,William D. Kalsbeek,Michael J. Thun,Phyllis A. Wingo +7 more
TL;DR: Effective sun protection is practiced by less than one-third of U.S. youth, and factors associated with specific sun-protection behaviors included a lower appeal to tanning, a higher perceived benefit of sun protection, and information from family and friends about sun protection.

The problem of non-response in sample surveys.
TL;DR: A technique which combines the advantages of both procedures is indicated, and under reasonable assumptions as to the relative costs of the two methods of canvass, an allocation of the sample can be made to mail and field canvasses.

Response Errors in Estimating the Value of Homes
Leslie Kish,John B. Lansing +1 more
TL;DR: Fauver et al. as mentioned in this paper analyzed the discrepancies between the two estimates and found that only 37% of the estimates by respondents are within plus or minus 10 per cent of the appraisers' estimates.

Influence of the Interviewer on the Accuracy of Survey Results
Robert H. Hanson,Eli S. Marks +1 more
TL;DR: A large-scale study of the effect of interviewers on survey results was conducted by as mentioned in this paper, where significant effects of the interviewer upon the results were found, the important factors appear to be (1) interviewer "resistance" to a given question, i.e., a tendency to omit or alter the question and/or to assume the answer; (2) relatively high ambiguity, subjectivity, or complexity in the concept or wording of the inquiry; (3) the degree to which additional questioning (probing) tends to alter initial respondent replies.
