Neuroinflammation: the role and consequences.
641
TL;DR: It is indicated that neuroinflammation causes and accelerates long-term neurodegenerative disease, playing a central role in the very early development of chronic conditions including dementia, and combinations of different preventative and therapeutic approaches may be efficacious.

Further sesquiterpenoids from Pittosporum qinlingense and their anti-inflammatory activity.
Ji-Li Deng,Rong Huang,Qiang Zhang,Bai-Tong Sha,Min-Chang Wang,Shang-Yong Deng,Jin-Ming Gao,XiuYun Zhang +7 more
TL;DR: In this paper , four sesquiterpenoid glycoside esters, Pitqinlingoside N-Q (1-4), together with eleven known metabolites (5-15), were isolated from 95% EtOH extract of the twigs, fruits and leaves of P. qinlingense and elucidated on the basis of extensive spectroscopic analyses, including IR, UV, HRMS, NMR and electronic circular dichroism spectra.

Mast cells: A key component in the pathogenesis of Neuromyelitis Optica Spectrum Disorder?
Washigton Luiz Gomes de Medeiros Junior,Isabelle Pastor Bandeira,André Eduardo de Almeida Franzoi,Wesley Nogueira Brandão,Ana Carolina Cardoso dos Santos Durão,Marcus Vinícius Magno Gonçalves +5 more
TL;DR: The study of MCs in NMOSD can help to elucidate the pathogenesis of this disease and guide new research for the treatment of patients in the future.

Peripheral inflammation is a potential etiological factor in Alzheimer’s disease
Ziyuan Li,Hui Wang,Yafu Yin +2 more
TL;DR: There are significant associations between AD and peripheral infection induced by various pathogens, including herpes simplex virus type 1, cytomegalovirus, Epstein-Barr virus, human immunodeficiency virus, severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2, Porphyromonas gingivalis, Helicobacter pylori, and Toxoplasma gondii.

Schmeisser,Omar Hahad,Huige Li,Andreas Daiber,Thomas Münzel +19 more
TL;DR: The recovery from noise-induced damage is more complex than expected demonstrating a complete restoration of large conductance vessel function but persistent endothelial dysfunction of the microcirculation, implying that longer noise pauses are required to completely reverse noise- induced vascular dysfunction including the resistance vessels.

Naringin prevents the reduction of the number of neurons and the volume of CA1 in a Scopolamine-Induced animal model of Alzheimer's disease (AD): A stereological study.
TL;DR: It is concluded that naringin could be effective in improving scopolamine-induced inhibitory passive avoidance memory deficits and that it appeared to increase the volume and density as well as the total number of neurons in the CA1 area of the Alzheimer's rat hippocampus.

Long-lasting potentiation of synaptic transmission in the dentate area of the anaesthetized rabbit following stimulation of the perforant path.
Timothy V. P. Bliss,T. Lømo +1 more
TL;DR: The after‐effects of repetitive stimulation of the perforant path fibres to the dentate area of the hippocampal formation have been examined with extracellular micro‐electrodes in rabbits anaesthetized with urethane.
Place navigation impaired in rats with hippocampal lesions.
TL;DR: It is reported that, in addition to a spatial discrimination impairment, total hippocampal lesions also cause a profound and lasting placenavigational impairment that can be dissociated from correlated motor, motivational and reinforcement aspects of the procedure.

Astrocyte–endothelial interactions at the blood–brain barrier
TL;DR: Specific interactions between the brain endothelium, astrocytes and neurons that may regulate blood–brain barrier function are explored to lead to the development of new protective and restorative therapies.

Cutting edge: Toll-like receptor 4 (TLR4)-deficient mice are hyporesponsive to lipopolysaccharide: evidence for TLR4 as the Lps gene product.
Katsuaki Hoshino,Osamu Takeuchi,Taro Kawai,Hideki Sanjo,Tomohiko Ogawa,Yoshifumi Takeda,Kiyoshi Takeda,Shizuo Akira +7 more
TL;DR: It is demonstrated that TLR4 is the gene product that regulates LPS response, and a single point mutation of the amino acid that is highly conserved among the IL-1/Toll receptor family is found.

Neurogenesis in the dentate gyrus of the adult rat: age-related decrease of neuronal progenitor proliferation
TL;DR: It is confirmed that in the adult rat brain, neuronal progenitor cells divide at the border between the hilus and the granule cell layer (GCL) and in adult rats, the progeny of these cells migrate into the GCL and express the neuronal markers NeuN and calbindin-D28k.
