Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a musical sound generating device which is small in circuit scale and inexpensive without requiring any extra circuit such as a latch for adjusting the output timing of parameters used for musical sound generation. SOLUTION: A common RAM 7 has sound generation data areas as many as sound generation channels and stores plural kinds of musical sound parameter by the areas. A control part 1 allocates sound generation channels according to a sound generation indication made by operating a keyboard 2 and writes the sound generation parameters corresponding to a musical sound to be generated in the sound generation data areas corresponding to the allocated sound generation channels. A sound source part 5 generates the musical sound through time-division channel operation, determined by dividing sampling cycles, in every certain sampling cycles according to the musical sound parameters in the sound generation data area. This sound source part 5 has plural circuits for performing processes in specific order for musical sound generation, and reads the musical sound parameters out of the sound generation data area corresponding to different sound generation channels by the kinds at each period of each time-division channel and supplies them to respective circuits.

- 30 Nov 2006
TL;DR: In this article, a musical tone generator capable of reproducing resonance sound of half damper is proposed, where a normal sound generation part 18 generates a sound signal in response to key touch and inputs it to an addition part 21 as a gate.

- 14 Feb 2008
TL;DR: In this article, a musical sound generator which simulates the key release string vibration sound of an acoustic piano and a casing resonance sound was proposed, where the cutoff frequency of the filter was sufficiently lowered to obviate the generation of the key releasing string vibrational sound during key pushing unless a damper was turned on during key releasing.
