Effects of the long-time thermal exposure on the microstructure and mechanical properties of laser weldings of Inconel 617
TL;DR: In this article, the area fractions and average diameters of M23C6 carbides increased due to the long-range diffusion of Cr atoms at 950°C, while the impact energy values of weld metals exposed at 850°C increased because of a decrease of Cr in solution.

Aging precipitation behavior and mechanical properties of Inconel 617 superalloy
Yan Guo,Bohan Wang,Shufang Hou +2 more
TL;DR: Aging precipitation behavior and mechanical properties of Inconel 617 superalloy aged at 760 °C for up to 10000 h were investigated in this paper, where the carbide particles precipitated both at the grain boundaries and within grains, and the γ′ phase particles were situated at intragranular sites in the process of aging.

Investigation on precipitation phenomena of Ni–22Cr–12Co–9Mo alloy aged and crept at high temperature
TL;DR: In this article, the authors used light optical, scanning electron and transmission electron microscopy to detect micro-structural modification in specimens exposed to high temperature and found that the major microstructural features were identified to be the presence of inter-and/or intragranular particles ((Cr,Mo,Fe) 23 C 6 and other types of carbides, δ -Ni 3 Mo and γ ′-Ni 3 (Al,Ti)) that clearly played an important role in the mechanical behaviour of the alloy.

TL;DR: In this article, the corrosion of a new nickel base superalloy, INCONEL alloy 740, has been studied at 550 and 700°C on exposure to the synthetic coal ash/flue gas environments by means of XRD, SEM, and EDX.

Mechanisms for boron effect on microstructure and creep strength of ferritic power plant steels
TL;DR: In this paper, boundary and sub-boundary hardening are shown to be the most important strengthening mechanism in 9%Cr steel steel, and the enhancement of boundary hardening retards the onset of acceleration creep, which decreases the minimum creep rate and improves the creep life.

The effects of boron addition on the microstructure and mechanical properties of Co–Re-based high-temperature alloys
Debashis Mukherji,Joachim Rösler,Manja Krüger,Martin Heilmaier,Marie-Christin Bölitz,Rainer Völkl,Uwe Glatzel,László Szentmiklósi +7 more
TL;DR: In this paper, boron mapping by neutron-induced radiography indicates that segregation of B to grain boundaries occurs, though only in some Co-Re alloy compositions, and electron energy loss spectroscopy could not detect elemental B segregation at grain boundaries.
