Electrospray droplet sources for thin film deposition
TL;DR: A review of electrospray methods and devices, including liquid metal ion sources, used for thin film deposition can be found in this article, where the authors show that the performance of the charged spray on an object is usually higher than that for uncharged droplets, and that it can be applied to many processes in industry and in scientific instruments manufacturing.

Microstructure-based finite element analysis of failure prediction in particle-reinforced metal–matrix composite
TL;DR: In this paper, a microstructure-based finite element analysis of particle-reinforced metal-matrix composite (PRMMC) was performed to evaluate the stress-strain and failure behavior.

Microstructure and creep behaviour of an Osprey processed and extruded Al–Cu–Mg–Ti–Ag alloy
TL;DR: In this article, the microstructure and creep behavior of an Al-Cu-Mg-Ti-Ag alloy processed via Osprey forming and extrusion was reported.

Assessment of the microstructure evolution of an austempered ductile iron during austempering process through strain hardening analysis
TL;DR: In this article, the authors determined a procedure based on tensile testing to assess the critical range of austempering times for having the best ausferrite produced through Austempering.

Hydrogenation-induced fragmentation in Ta–Ni alloy
TL;DR: In this article, the authors investigated the hydrogen-induced fragmentation behavior of Ta-Ni binary alloys and found that the hydrogen fragmentation is attributed to the absorption of a large amount of hydrogen, the interfacial strain introduction by lattice expansion and hydride formation, and crack formation at brittle constituent phase(s) and hydroxide.

A study of Nd-Fe-B magnets produced using a combination of hydrogen decrepitation and jet milling
TL;DR: A combination of hydrogen decrepitation (HD) and jet milling (JM) has been used to produce powder for the processing of permanent magnets as mentioned in this paper, which has proved to be very successful for both NdFeB (Neomax) alloys and the NdDyFeNbB high coercivity alloys.

Microstructure and fracture of aluminium austempered ductile iron investigated using electron microscopy
TL;DR: In this article, an unalloyed nodular cast iron has been studied after heat treating in the bainite temperature range, and the microstructure produced for austempering times up to 3 h was typical of ductile iron, consisting of carbide free upper bainitic ferrite together with a stable, high carbon enriched retained, reacted, austenite.

Diffusion-induced dislocations in RSP AlMo
C.P. Chang,Michael H. Loretto +1 more
TL;DR: The role of coherent and partially coherent interfaces in the generation of dislocations during diffusion has been discussed in this paper, with particular emphasis on the role of the coherent and partial coherent interfaces.
