Regional geology, depositional environment and maturity of organic matter of Early to Middle Jurassic coals, coaly shales, shales and claystones from the Eastern Pontides, NE Turkey
TL;DR: In this article, a detailed analysis of coals, coaly shales, shales and claystones from the Eastern Pontides in NE Turkey has been performed using microscopical, petrophysical and detailed organic geochemical methods to reveal the composition of the organic matter and to discuss the depositional environment.

Oxidation Tmax: A new thermal maturity indicator for hydrocarbon source rocks
TL;DR: In this paper, a new thermal maturity indicator for hydrocarbon source rocks based on non-isothermal programmed temperature oxidation of organic matter was reported, which can be used as an indicator for its maturity.

TL;DR: In this paper, two representative immature source rock samples from the Jurassic to Lower Cretaceous (Plover, Laminaria, Frigate, Flamingo and Echuca Shoals) sequences were analysed to define the hydrocarbon products that analogous mature source rocks could have generated during thermal maturation and filled the petroleum reservoirs in the Laminaris High region.

TL;DR: In this paper, geochemical logs from nine wells were used together with age constraints provided by calcareous nannoplankton, well and seismic data to determine vertical and lateral changes of the source potential.
