Laboratory-simulated thermal maturation of Recent sediments
TL;DR: In this paper, a set of constructive and destructive reactions plays a role in determining the quantity and quality of sapropelic kerogen in each sample, and the results of pyrolysis indicate a sharp peak in ESR spin density, and suggest a complete reorganization of molecular structure after the oil deadline.

Petrographical and geochemical characterization of sub-bituminous coals from mines in the Cesar-Ranchería Basin, Colombia
TL;DR: In this paper, the thermal maturity and palaeoenvironmental conditions during peat accumulation were investigated using organic-petrological and organic-geochemical methods to assess thermal maturity.

Coal-related sources of organic contamination in sediments and water from the Bierawka River (Poland)
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors used reflected light microscopy and Rock Eval Pyrolysis to identify the origin of coal in the sediment, and solvent extracts by gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS).

TL;DR: In this article, the authors used a LECO apparatus to determine organic carbon at Site 535, located in the Straits of Florida at a water depth of 3455 m.
Carboniferous coals of the Zonguldak basin (northwest Turkey): Implications for coalbed methane potential
TL;DR: In this article, the authors investigated the coal seams in the Zonguldak basin using a multidisciplinary approach, including petrographical and geochemical analyses, gas adsorption and gas content measurements, artificial maturation experiments on selected coals, and one-dimensional (1-D) modeling of the basin evolution and hydrocarbon generation.
