Palaeoenvironment of the Eocene Eckfeld Maar lake (Germany): implications from geochemical analysis of the oil shale sequence
TL;DR: In this article, the Eocene Eckfeld Maar lake was investigated for biomarker and stable isotope composition, and a trend towards heavier δ 18 O and δ 13 C values indicates the evolution of permanently meromictic conditions in the lake and an increase in methanogenesis.

Relationship between Zn–Pb ore and oil accumulation processes: Example of the Bou Grine deposit (Tunisia)
TL;DR: In this article, the authors proposed a genetic model for the Bou Grine deposit and found that an intense biological activity developed at the expense of the organic content of the Bahloul formation and of the sulfate from the adjacent Triassic diapir may have produced the hydrogen sulfide responsible for ore deposition.

The end-Frasnian mass extinction in the Eifel Mountains, Germany: new insights from organic matter composition and preservation
TL;DR: In this article, the Büdesheimer Bach borehole in the Prüm Syncline, Eifel Mountains, Germany encountered upper Frasnian and lowermost Famennian sediments including the Upper Kellwasser Horizon (UKW) and a limestone-dominated sequence (LKW) which can be correlated with the Lower Kasser Horizon in other sections and the palynofacies is characterized by a high abundance of amorphous organic matter (AOM), prasinophytes, miospores and acritarchs indicative of a fully marine,
